Hadleigh
Ford
Is a man...
but also a band...
Since
the age of fifteen, armed with just an acoustic guitar and engaging, soulful
voice, Hadleigh Ford has performed to
audiences across the length and breadth of the UK. His song writing draws upon
influences diverse as Nirvana, Bill Withers & XTC and hence isn’t shy of a
catchy melody or riff.
Spending
his student years on the south coast in Brighton, Hadleigh played extensively on
the live circuit there, gaining a reputation as an accomplished songwriter and
performer in the process. This paved the way to a headline set at the Concord,
plus support slots with Glen Matlock (ex Sex Pistols) and Sam Flynn (ex
Eurythmics)
Upon
his return back to his Essex roots, he was beginning to realise that his songs
warranted a bigger sound and a louder voice, but needing the right blend of
musicians to compliment his catalogue of songs.
Finally
in the autumn of 2016 he decided to seek out a drummer and bassist to create Hadleigh Ford, the band. Long
time friend James Cliff was the first to be recruited, occupying the drum
stool, shortly followed by bassist Dave
Kidd, whom Hadleigh knew from the London gig circuit.
On
paper the mix of the three, with opposing musical backgrounds, shouldn’t have
worked, but an intensive batch of rehearsals and low key gigs fused the band's
sound and by the start of 2005 they recorded two tracks (‘All Pieces
Together’ and ‘Trust’) at Animal Farm studios in South London, which
feature on their current sampler CD.
Since
then Hadleigh Ford have headlined
at London's ULU, supported 'Special Needs', plus have a future support with MTV
faves 'Dustin’s Bar Mitzvah' at The Garage, London in October.
Later
this year, Hadleigh
Ford will return to the studio to complete their first E.P. release,
followed by more UK dates.
What
happens next is down to the man who is a band with a plan……..
