Artist Biography:This
acoustic five-piece hail from three different countries,
and perhaps that's why their music is hard to pin down. Reference
points are unnecessary though, because Hallucinations' set is
crammed full of
light-on-their-feet songs that take you by the hand and charm
you all the way. Ida
Alfstad fronts the band, singing with a carefree soulfulness that
recalls Rickie Lee
Jones. Her vocals are counterpointed effectively by guitarist/singer
Clinton Boland, while tasteful keyboard and cello add colour.
Many of these tunes could transfer equally well to a rock context,
but Hallucinations prove
that acoustic instruments can also deliver power and
dynamics, often ending their set with an epic number that
builds to a peak
of driving intensity. check them out before someone gets their
greedy fingers on
them.
