Heat From a
DeadStar is the result of Prck and Ph.’s meeting, in 2016.
While coming from different music stages, the two guys share quite a
lot of musical influences, most of them
belonging to the Noise, the Rock or even
to the Experimental music.
But the band’s main characteristics come from the striking
differences between the 2 guys which
are mainly expressed via their ways of composition.
As Prck’s theoretical skills rule the guitars, Ph.’s bass
remains rather instinctive and the resulting
mix leads to something that sounds
unstructured but melodic and warm.
In late 2016, the band recorded in Belgium a first eponymous EP,
comprising 4 titles. Since
its self-release in April 2005 this EP has been reviewed several
times in European/American webzines and specialised magazines, all
being extremely positive and
encouraging. However, the lack of a
stable line-up, meaning the difficulty to find a tailored
drummer, delays the expected “real start” of the band. In mid
2005, Rzn joined Heat From a DeadStar whose
line-up is completed, at last. Rzn
absorbs Heat From a DeadStar’s spirit remarkably quickly. Besides,
he also gives a personal colour to the
drums, mainly through dynamic arrangements.
Heat From a DeadStar extended its repertoire with 6 new titles which
have been recorded at Berry Street
Studio (London) with Kevin Porée in August 2005.
The 6 new titles are definitely more mature,
more complete and more melodic, even if
they do keep what’s now Heat From a DeadStar’s touch: this
so aerial heaviness. With this new CD,
the band has then a complete live set, ready to be played
on stage.
Heat From a DeadStar’s shows are impressive: their energy, their
technical skills just gain in power and with only the 3 of them on
stage they manage to re-create the incredible and sophisticated
atmosphere of their musical universe.
