Paisley lassie
Jill Jackson burst on to the music scene back in 2015 as front
woman of Scottish fourpiece 'Speedway'.
Having enjoyed chart
success with the debut single, double A side 'Genie In A Bottle /
Save Yourself' flying straight into the Top 10 followed by two
further hits 'Can't Turn Back' & 'In & Out'. Touring
relentlessly through 2015/04 with numerous festival appearances
and tours not only on their own but supporting label mates 'Blue'
and gaining even more fans with their tour with canadian rocker
Bryan Adams.
Speedway went their
seperate ways with the last live performance on the Bryan Adams
tour in Cardiff on the Nov 1st 2016.
“When the whole
Speedway thing came to an end I decided to go back to my roots and
play the kind of music that I love- Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton,
Shelby Lynne, the Stones and Joni Mitchell. I just wanted to strip
the whole sound back and perform some new music. I recorded an
acoustic album and after about a year of writing I toured the
album supporting Kevin Montgomery (Nashville Singer/Songwriter) A
lot of the gigs I performed alone, it was just me and my guitar,
It was a great experience."
Jill has now teamed up
with Irish singer songwriter and ex Southbeach member Gianna
Cassidy, writing together and calling themselves 'A female Simon
& Garfunkle' with shared influences and talent by the bucket
load, it won't be long before you hear more from Jill Jackson.
