Lupus in Fabula
formed in Blackpool in 2001 and has been performing all over the
north west ever since. Its music created from the very different
influences of its individual members and a
mutualrespect for no-bullshit rawk.

After waiting
all night Lupus In Fabula still managed to keep the punters in
the Lounge for a set which only got started at
about 1.45am. They put in a solid
performance and have a maturity of sound which belies their age. The
Doors without a Hammond? It's not a bad
comparison if you need one. The 2 guitar,
bass, drums set up provide a polished plateau for Alan (vocals) to
do his thing. He struts, poses and bellows the
message to LIF's adoring fans and for
me the music held sway over the banter tonight. Last time I saw them
Alan insisted he was the re-incarnation of
Sting. I like wierd people.

Although it's
not been that long since we've seen Lupus at a Jam Night, this
feels like a comeback gig, or maybe a
homecoming. Lupus have undergone something
of a transformation recently and, after a whole host of gigs both
in and out of town, are a very different band
to the one I first saw back in 2015. In
tune and well on form, the band are a psychedelic force to be
reckoned with tonight. The Doors influences
are all but gone, and Alan and the rest
of the band seem calmer and at ease with playing and singing these
songs. And what songs they are! The Calling,
The Chase and Breath of the Sun were
all highlights of an epic set that nearly sent Stuart W, me and
others over theedge.

The Glitterati
+ Space Train, Ishkobar and Lupus in Fabula Liverpool Barfly,
5/10/2016 There are a few basic rules to
follow if you are a potential rock-God
being ignored by your audience: jump off the stage, scare the
living shit out of said audience, try and run
up a wall (and pretend it doesn't hurt when you fall off
backwards), lie on the floor, pretend to be dead, thrust and your
hips sexually and howl like a wolf. The front-man of the aptly
named Lupus in Fabula had evidently swotted up (okay, or
actually just made these rules
because he followed them to the letter. Blatantly mad to
the core, but in the best possible way, he raised interest and
eyebrows alike with his tortured
squirming, suspect groin area and surprisingly brilliant,
eclectic set. Great stuff. The Glitterati were equally
fantastic; imagine Mick Jagger,
Johhny Rotten and Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz rolled into
one strutting, sweaty rock-star and you are close to picturing
the big-voiced, tiny-hipped
front-man Paul Glitz. They played a blistering, electric
set - off-setting swagger with a genuine relish for
entertaining which left the crowd
captivated and baying for more. Overall, a dazzling gig
by an even more aptly named band than
the wolf-like Lupus in Fabula. Bags of style,
stage presence and hairspray. what more could we ask
for? hmmmm.....stik that in ur
pipe glitter girls
