Biography |
A band carved out over a period of more than seven years, they have
consisted of more than thirty members in this time; some good, some bad and some very
ugly. But not only a sight for sore eyes on and off the stage, all current members
(Steve Scully, Nick and Scott Bevan, Matt Wainmann, Neil "Nizza" Jones and Danny Rankin) are practising to a frenzy for a sensational gig at
the
home of the Beatles, the Cavern Club. Steve Scully (vocal) leads a band backed vocally
by guitarists Matt and Neil, and Danny (keys), in which twins Nick (bass guitar) and Scott (drums) Have been the backbone since the beginning.
At this
stage in the music industry's infamous rise and falls, when there are barely half the
number of independent labels as there were 30 years ago, this Ormskirk based band are
"Destined for success", as one fan claimed. There is an array of talent and enthusiasm on display when they are performing their phenomenal
interpretations
of Stevie Wonders classic "Superstition" and Otis Reading's "Hard to
Handle", along with their own songs, two of which have become personal anthems "Call my name" and "That’s the way it goes".
One
fan claimed in not so many words that Metric's performance at the Cavern Club last
December was "Absolutely F***ing Amazing!" With new material on its way and
the bands intentions of working with an excellent business and marketing team
behind them, the band will continue to "Wow" crowds with their concoction of
funk, rock and an exceptional approach to music which can only be described as
"METRIC!"
