The Content of the Tours
As past masters of introducing people to the sites and
sounds of The Beatles, we have produced a range of different Beatles Tours
incorporating a multitude of sites in and around Liverpool. Whilst the Magical
Mystery Tour of Liverpool is the perfect introduction to The Beatles it
only scratches the surface of the story.
The Magical Mystery Tour
The tour introduces you to over thirty
places associated directly with The Beatles and those people who were close to them.
From humble beginnings the story describes their rise to stardom and their eventual departure from
Liverpool. Whether you are a fan or just curious to find our more about The Beatles, the tour will be
an unforgettable experience.
The tour finishes inside The Cavern where you will have time to take some photographs, have a relaxing drink
and choose a souvenir to take home from the 'Cavern Collection' of merchandise. You may wish to return
to the club later in the evening.
Our tours are presented by our team of professional tour guides who are all expert Beatle historians.
Our fleet of three Magical Mystery Tour coaches are all identical to the original vehicle used in the
1967 film Magical Mystery Tour. The original coach can be seen at the Hard Rock Café, Miami. Our
coach DJH 713F made an appearance in The Beatles Free As A Bird video.
To discover more about Beatles' Liverpool we recommend our map and guide which complements the tour
and enables you to explore sites the Magical Mystery Tour cannot reach.
Remember that the scheduled tour only introduces you to part of the story. For the avid fan there are
a range of tours and sites that can be visited in Liverpool and London. |
Lennon's Liverpool
This tour concentrates totally on the
life and times of John Lennon during the 23 years he lived in
Liverpool. The places he lived in, the schools he
attended, the venues he started his career in, his birthplace and the
story of his turbulent and tragic childhood and teenage years.
These are places you'll remember!
Duration of the Tour: 3 hours by coach, less by car. |
McCartney's Liverpool
Paul's birthplace and early life in the
North End of Liverpool and the numerous house moves the family made
due to Mary McCartney's occupation as a district midwife, provide the
basis for the tour which includes much of suburban Liverpool.
When you add other important sites associated with the Beatles and
other places which have become linked with Paul over the last 50
years, you end up with a tour which can best be described as a
"long and winding road".
Duration of Tour: 3½ hours by coach, less by car. Liverpool and
Wirral 5½ hours by coach, less by car. Add an additional hour
if you want to include a Ferry 'cross the Mersey. |
In the
Footsteps of The Beatles
There are numerous Beatle locations in
the City Centre which are difficult or impossible to reach by car or
coach. This tour starts in the precincts of the Art School and
LIPA and winds its way downhill past the Blue Angel and Jacaranda
finishing in the Cavern Quarter.
Duration of Tour: 1½ - 2 hours, Distance no more than one mile. |
Fanatics Tour
Includes historic venues such as
Litherland Town Hall, Aintree Institute and the Casbah with visits to
home, schools and other sites not included in the magical Mystery
Tour.
Duration of Tour: 3½ hours by coach, less by car. |
The Fifth Beatle Tour
Whereas the other tours tend to dwell on
The Beatles, this deals more specifically with Pete Best, Stu Sutcliffe, Brian Epstein, Bob Wooler and Allan Williams.
Duration of Tour: 3 hours by coach, less by car. |
Beatles
'Cross The Mersey
The Wirral peninsula shares the
opposite bank of the River Mersey with Liverpool. Referred to by
Liverpudlians as "over the water", it has a long and
interesting association with The Beatles. Ringo made his first
public performance with The Beatles at Hulme Hall, Port
Sunlight. This is a very interesting tour which can include a
relaxing Ferry 'cross the Mersey.
Duration of Tour: 3 hours by coach, less by car. Add an
additional hour if you want to include the Ferry. |
