REECE WIN "BATTLE OF THE BANDS"

Last night was one of those great, "sweaty" , nights down the Cavern.  A packed house had come to support their favourite band in the Final of The Battle of the Bands competition in association with Radio City.  The four finalists :  Lost, Chione, Reece and Supervision, all gave superb performances, but unfortunately, there could only be one winner.  As Radio City's Phil Easton read out the winners name, a huge cheer came up from the Reece fans in the audience.
Reece's prize, will be a days recording in Abbey Road Studio 2, and a main stage slot on the Mathew Street Festival later this month.
The Cavern would like to thank Radio City, Stevie P., and all the sound engineers who have worked so hard over the 8 heats, 2 semi finals and the grand final last night.

JOE BROWN PLAYS THE CAVERN SUNDAY 17th NOVEMBER
Joe Brown with his Bruvvers and special guest from the USA, Henry Gross.
Fresh from his triumph at this year's Glastonbury Festival Joe Brown, one of the country's best loved, enduring and most acclaimed musicians, is back on the road. And the emphasis again is firmly on MUSIC!
This is another brand new show which features Joe at his very best performing many of his all-time favourite songs. From authentic gospel and timeless classics to the country-based numbers he is deservedly renowned for, from rock 'n' roll to some of his own biggest hits, it's a show that embraces a wide variety of styles. There's even a healthy selection of world music thrown in for good measure…
Supporting Joe on this tour is USA legend Henry Gross. Henry formed the Rock & Roll band Sha Na Na who were launched on an unsuspecting world via their smash appearance at the Woodstock festival.
He went on to have a major solo career selling several million solo albums and will be best remembered here for his biggest solo hit Shannon.

The second night will feature his post 1988 solo material and will also include many songs seldom if ever played live. His website www.the-company.com has been running a poll for his fans to determine his set lists so he is responding to public demand.

"I'm so looking forward to playing the whole 'Misplaced Childhood' album as it is the most successful album I have been involved with and although I have often played 'Kayleigh' or 'Lavender' from the album, to play the whole album live will put them in a more complete and dynamic context.
